You're eligible after 90 consecutive days of active service (or less if discharged for service-connected disability).
Must have been discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. General, Honorable, and Medical discharges typically qualify.
Served 6 years in the National Guard (must have honorable discharge). Title 32 full-time National Guard duty also qualifies.
Completed 6 years in the Selected Reserve and received an honorable discharge. Those retired from Reserve with 20+ years also qualify.
Completed 90 days of active duty for training under Title 10 or Title 32, or were discharged due to service-connected disability.
Surviving spouses may be eligible if they meet one of these conditions:
Spouse of veteran who died in service or from service-connected disability
Surviving spouse who has not remarried (or remarried after age 57)
Spouse of servicemember missing in action or POW for 90+ days
Surviving spouse receiving Dependency and Indemnity Compensation
